Updates & Answers

October 26, 2021

We hope everyone is doing well. We wanted to share some current updates on Canine Influenza and the upcoming Holidays.

Canine Influenza

We are fully open for business for those dogs that have completed their Canine Influenza series and are at least 7 days past their booster.

The Canine Influenza vaccine is required moving forward, and must cover both the H3N2 and the H3N8 strains. If you have questions about your dog’s vaccine, please contact your veterinarian.

We have had reports of some dogs that “seem” to be getting better and then they backslide.   These dogs have developed a high temperature, which turned into pneumonia. This is not the case for all the dogs, but we want parents to be aware.   Please keep a close eye on your dog once the cough subsides and get them to a vet quickly if this happens.  If you are concerned, please reach out to your vet right away.

If your dog was sick, they must be symptom free for 14 days before returning to daycare or other social environments.  If you have questions about your dog specifically, it is best to discuss them with your veterinarian.  The cycle of Canine Influenza may be 28 day from exposure, but the rule of thumb to protect other dogs is 14 days from completion of symptoms.

Holiday Updates

For the Thanksgiving Holiday 2021 we are currently waitlisted from Sunday November 21st through Friday November 26th.  Please note if you are being placed on the waitlist a reservation is not guaranteed.

For the Christmas Holiday 2021 we are 80% full from Thursday December 23rd through Tuesday December 28th

We still have availability for New Year 2021.

This has been a rough time for all of us, and we could not have gotten through it without everyone’s support.  We hope you are all well and we look forward to seeing you all again.

Sincerely,  Grateful Dogs Team
